Whilst the overall risk posed by trees is extremely low, land owners have a duty of care to avoid trees for which they are responsible causing damage or injury. Symbiosis can assist in discharging this duty in a pragmatic and efficient manner, in accordance with the balanced and proportionate approach advocated by the National Tree Safety Group, through a combination of the following services:

  • Initial walkover survey to assess overall condition of large tree populations to identify imminently hazardous specimens and further inspection requirements
  • Regular tree hazard evaluation for private, commercial and municipal landowners, utilising the Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) methodology.
  • Detailed inspection of individual trees with known or suspected defects but the retention of which is desirable, to establish the significance of the defects and appropriate mitigation measures. This may involve an aerial inspection, root collar excavation or the use of specialist decay detection equipment
